“We originally contacted Brenden to help with property management of our beautiful and historic 1929 estate we had lovingly restored. Specifically, we needed assistance with the difficult transition from the truly terrible, abusive, and lazy property manager I had made the previous mistake of engaging. I wish I had found Brenden earlier, he made me feel empowered, was available to tenants & myself and discussed everything with me, and kept me totally involved and informed. Exactly what I asked for. Brenden is a very skilled communicator and negotiated this transition efficiently. He took all the stress out of this untenable situation for me. We still had Tenants with a 2-year lease, whose interests I was also careful to protect, so it was complicated, but he was extremely professional, honest, and endlessly kind and patient with all of us. During this time, I became aware that my Tenants had serious problems of their own. After some thought, I asked them if ending the lease early without penalty would be of assistance to them. They gratefully accepted – it was a human decision and the right one. Brenden understood this and started preparing to find new tenants and also put me in contact with some awesome guys who replaced the roof as it was badly needed. I flew back over to Seattle for the final inspection, annual maintenance, and cleaning to do within a week. In his amazingly organized and efficient manner, Brenden also assisted me with awesome contractors for some repairs that I couldn’t do myself given this short turnaround whilst constantly checking in on me to see how I was doing. As much as we loved our home and enjoyed the work associated with being its caretakers it was becoming clear to us that we were not likely to return to Seattle anytime soon and this home needed a family living in it. So, we reluctantly asked Brenden to sell it instead. He (seemingly) effortlessly shifted gears and had the house inspected, staged, listed, and beautifully marketed within 6 days of the Tenant’s departure. Three days after that, we then had 2 open houses (Sat & Sun) by Monday had a full cash offer, waiving all contingencies. It was so quick we had to ask for time to get our heads around it all. Brenden had warned us that if done right, it was a possibility, but we had prepared ourselves to be on the market for some time in this economy, especially at the price point we entered the market as this was a unique property. Suddenly we felt unable to let go. Brenden was very gracious. We took some advice from our financial/estate planner whilst Brenden negotiated to give us some time to think. He also sought legal counsel on our behalf to be sure that we were advised properly on how to pull it from the market if we changed our minds. 48 hours after the initial offer we accepted it and closed a bit over 2 weeks later. In both property management and the sale of our property we couldn’t have asked for a more efficient, attentive, professional, organized, honest, down-to-earth, and kind human being to help us navigate these past 15 weeks. Nothing was too difficult for Brenden and he was very patient with us despite our last-minute decisions and our uncertainty. Brenden shows wisdom and care that comes from being an old soul, balanced with being very up-to-the-minute and informed about his job. He is also very ably supported by his personal team and a company that shares his values. He truly likes and respects people and only surrounds himself with others who are similarly very kind, hardworking, respectful, and skilled at what they do. Brenden showed us a willingness to listen that is rare in today’s real estate and property management industries and an understanding of what was important to us.
